• The Brink!

In a cafe at the edge of the world, a group of wayward performers present The Brink!, an experimental cabaret in a time of unraveling. Musical, muscular, irreverent, and full of wonder, The Brink!… responds to that moment when the ground beneath us shifts too quickly, and the world suddenly seems unrecognizable. Drawing from American pop songs and jazz standards, the poetry of Gertrude Stein, and Ann Carson’s “The Gender of Sound,” the ensemble slides past the edge of reason in this unfettered encounter with the stranger inside.

The Brink! Or Nobody’s Ever Kissed Me Like That
Is presented by Steppenwolf’s LookOut Series

    August 24-25, 7:30pm
With a preview performance Aug 23

    @ the 1700 Theatre
    1650 N. Halsted St.

Walkabout will develop the work in Chicago and in Delhi, before preparing it for tour in the United States.
