    Walkabout Theater Company is celebrating summer with A PERSEPHONE PAGEANT, an outdoor, family-friendly performance weaving together mythic tales of nature gods and true stories of environmental justice. Walkabout creates an immersive spectacle exploring the Great Lakes, their history with Chicago, and the great victories and challenges associated with their preservation. 

    Three free performances will be presented August 20 and August 26–27, 2017 at three city parks through the Chicago Park District’s “Night Out in the Parks” series. Two additional performances will take place at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts on September 2 and the Ragdale Foundation on September 16. .

  • Summer Training Intensive

    A week-long theater training and performance intensive for artists of all disciplines: The week will include daily sessions focused on training physical presence and awareness through partner acrobatics, stilt-walking, singing, and improvisation. Each day will also include a dedicated session for participants to develop their individual practice and personal performance material. Participants will use personal investigations as a way of meeting each other and confronting themselves. Sessions will run from 2-9pm with a dinner break Monday through Friday, and an open showing of the participants’ work will be presented on Friday evening.
